김홍근 선교사의 편지

Shalom. Friends.
This is Edward Kim.
I returned home to Canada now. Thanks for your prayers during the Beresheet festival.

“Love your enemies….”
Yes, this is the teaching of Yeshua. Love your enemies… However, persecutors are not always necessarily enemies. They think that they are doing right things for the Lord. Mostly, they are devoted to the Lord. They just don’t know what really truth is… It isn’t really easy to love people who threaten us, especially when they are buzzing us for 24 hours with no break. It was a great challenge to be in the festival training ourselves to learn how to love our enemies.

“We’ve killed your Jesus! He is dead!”
“Jesus is not Jewish Messiah. Don’t listen those dangerous missionaries who have killed our Jewish children in the name of Jesus!”

“Whatever you say, Yeshua loves you!” I said. Then, I heard Yad LeAchim members spat and cursed on me.
“Go to hell! Get lost!”

Anti-missionary group, Yad LeAchim, has been watching us again for 24 hours and for three days. They have been buzzing us all the time during the Beresheet festival. This year, they brought an official authority to push us away. They brought director of regional council, and their attorney. They brought policemen. They didn’t care what others are doing— drug, alcohol for kids, false teaching to children. However, they did really care what we were doing there—Sharing true life with Yeshua.

They have chasing me, cursed on me, and spat on me. “You are a dirty missionary! You are selling our Jewish souls!” Well… nothing has been changed since Yeshua crucified on the cross two thousand years ago. In the morning during our team devotion time, I told to team members not to argue with them, but to love them because they do not know what they are doing. They think that they are really protecting their own Jewish people from “dangerous missionaries” because that is how they have been educated.

However, God haven’t stop working there. It was the only teashop outside of festival. Many people didn’t buy ticket to the festival! They camped near our teashop! Every night there were full of people in the out teashop! We had our worship teams that run stage day and night! We also had movie time with JESUS film every night! We have put full volume of sound so that all people in the camping site can hear the gospel. I saw many secular people joined to our worship to the Lord. The name of the Yeshua has been declared there. Several teens have been healed during our prayer. Several others have prayed to accept Yeshua as their Messiah. We do not have yet exact number of people who prayed to accept Yeshua. I will let you know when I get it after our debriefing meeting of our staffs.

God has used us in the festival to be witness of God’s love, and healed many broken hearts. There were a dozen of commando soldiers by our teashop, who took a short vacation. They have tried to escape from their stress by yelling and making fun of people around them. They have gone through really tough time in the army. Many of them have lost their friends in combats. They have tried to forget every pain just by drinking and making fun of people. They have overtaken out teashop from the morning, and yelling to people coming to the teashop. My heart was really boiling inside, but invited them for breakfast instead of kicking them away. While they were eating, our staff members have shared them Gospel. Then, they enjoyed being with us for the last days of the festival. They even tried protect us from Yad LeAchim.

Thanks for your prayer. I’m glad to be with my family. It was a challenging time for my wife to be by herself. God has blessed us.

Keep praying for us to return to home in Israel someday. Keep praying for raising our Share support during our HMA. We need to raise around $2000 this year.

Blessings.
Ed
